16 Year Old Nigerian Killed In London

He was killed with a knife after being chased by youths on bikes in London, Fola Orebiyi died on the pavement of Portobello Road in front of horrified onlookers who say he was chased by a gang on bikes at around 8;45pm last night. Despite paramedics effort to save his life, he died. Witnesses said he had been chased into portobello Road after a fight broke out on a neighboring estate. He is the fourth Nigerian teenager to have been killed in London so far this year I wonder what he must have done wrong to warrant him been killed instead of going to report him to authorities..My heart goes to his family, May the god LORD comfort them at this time....May he rest in peace..

22 New SANs Announced By Supreme Court, Festus Keyamo Misses Out Again

The list was released yesterday and the conferment of the rank on the 22 lawyers brings the total number of Senior Advocate Of Nigeria to 451, Festus Keyamo who was shortlisted with 55 others, again missed out the final list for the third time. The chief Registrar of the supreme court, Ahmed Gambo Saleh, who announced the list, disclose that a total of 55 lawyers were shortlisted out of the 131 that applied. On the list of the 22 successful candidates are three academicians and two females. Kuje jailbreak: Prison suspends 14 staff

The Nigeria Prison Service (NPS) has already wielded the big stick over the escape of two high profile culpable homicide inmates at the Kuje Medium Security Prison, suspending a total number of 14 officers and men. The two inmates, Solomon Amodu and Maxwell Ajukwu (both standing trial for culpable homicide) had escaped from lawful custody in Kuje Prison on Friday June 24, 2016. The statement made available to Prison Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Nigeria Prison Service (NPS), DCP Francis Enobore, revealed that while the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB) approved the suspension of 4 senior officers, the Controller-General of Prisons, Ja’afaru Ahmed, in his capacity, also approved the suspension of 10 junior staff of the prison. The friend of a wedding guest took to Facebook to detail her pal's agony at a wedding and all over a dress.. (the one pictured above) She wrote: "She says she got treated rudely by other women at the wedding who saw her as a target for wearing this dress. A woman came up behind her and slapped her on the bum and said it was on a dare from a group of other women who were watching and snickering. "Someone else seemingly purposely spilt a beer on her. "She's amazed that grown women could be so immature and such bullies. "But wait. She wants to know - did she bring ANY of this on herself by wearing this dress to a wedding?" A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on Monday upheld the removal of Senator Modu Sheriff as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party. Forgery Case: Melaye Alerts on Attempts to Tamper With Evidence

Chairman, Senator Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West has raised the alarm on what he called a plan by certain individuals to doctor the Police report on the investigation of allegation of forgery leveled against the leadership of the Senate so as to make the report to indict Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu. N4.9bn fraud: Fani-Kayode, others get N250m bail

A Federal High Court in Lagos has granted bail in the sum of N250m to a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, who is being tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for an alleged fraud of N4.9bn. Justice Muslim Hassan granted the bail with two sureties in like sum and ordered Fani-Kayode to deposit his passport in the custody of the court pending the outcome of the case. The sureties, the court said, must be owners of landed properties within the court’s jurisdiction. They were also to present evidence of tax clearance in the state. Also admitted to bail in the same conditions were a former Minister of State for Finance, Nemandi Usman, and one Danjuma Yusuf, who were standing trial along with Fani-Kayode. Joined as the 4th defendant in the charge was a company,  Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Limited. The Ekiti State Chapter of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties has said it will not participate in any planned protest rally by some groups against President Muhammadu Buhari and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The commission has frozen Governor Ayodele Fayose’s accounts and some of his associates after allegedly tracing N4.7bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser to them and those of two sons of a former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro. In a statement at the end of its monthly meeting, the conference expressed disgust at its inclusion among other groups mobilising to protest against the president and the EFCC. The member representing Anambra North Senatorial District in the upper chamber, Senator Stella Oduah, has described as false and malicious, an on-line media report which alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, discovered N2.5bn in the bank account of one of her maids. Oduah, in a statement by her media aide,  Francisca Onyeisi, and made available to our correspondent in Abuja on Monday, maintained that the report was a mere figment of the reporter’s imagination. Despite perceived lopsidedness in his appointments, President Muhammadu Buhari has promised that under his watch, no section of the country would either be discriminated against or marginalised. The President spoke at a time when he is under fire by Southern groups over what they described as “lopsided” appointments of heads of the various security agencies in the country. The Central Bank of Nigeria today sacked the management team of Skye Bank over capital adequacy issues. The bank's top executives on getting wind of their impending sack, resigned en-mass this morning. The bank's Chairman, Tunde Ayeni and its Managing Director, led other executive and non-executive board members to tender their resignation before the apex bank announced the dissolution of the bank's management team this afternoon. CBN will manage the affairs of the bank for some time. The bank, according to financial experts, has been distressed for a while.
