Kaduna community blame recent earth tremor on the “activities of prostitutes and homosexuals”

Image
Residents of the Hayin Magina area of Ikara, in Kaduna State has blamed the recent mini-earthquake they witnessed, on the “activities of prostitutes and homosexuals.” The earth tremor manifested largely on a massive rock and affected nearby houses. It caused cracks on the rock and visible cracks on walls of houses. Some witnesses described it as having been a thunderous noise which sounded like a bomb blast. It woke sleeping residents at about 10:43pm, Daily Trust reports. Some houses in the area were deserted, as the occupants were said to have left out of fear. The remaining inhabitants, also, are visibly shaken and are still shaking from the experience. Malam Mustapha Musa, whose carpentry workshop was closed in wake of the quake said the incident is a warning to those who have made homosexuality their trade. “It’s nothing but a warning from Allah, the most high. Many heartless residents have made the rock a safe haven for raping our young boys. On many occasions, victim

Nigeria Ruined By Military Rule

Image
Military intervention in Nigeria’s politics as well as the overthrow of federalism and enthronement of unitary system of governance not only arrested Nigeria’s progress, that traumatic experience 50 years ago continues to haunt the nation’s life and threatens her future growth. Therefore, even after 17 years of unbroken civilian rule, Nigeria is yet to find its feet as a federation as vestiges of militarism still hold the country to ransome. This being the 50th anniversary of military assault on Nigeria’s political soul, now is the time to look at the road the country has travelled and return it to the path of progress through a proper and sound federal structure. Nigeria obtained independence on October 1, 1960, republican status on October 1, 1963 and thrived on the principle of federalism. Regionalism took root and prospered with four federating units developing in accordance with their endowments. They were not polluted then by the advent of oil and gas resources as they d

Obama - Trump ‘unfit’ to be president

Image
In a blunt and virtually unprecedented presidential rebuke, Barack Obama on Tuesday described Donald Trump as “unfit” to be president and called on Republicans to disown him. Standing alongside the prime minister of Singapore, Obama cast aside any pretense of domestic unity and described Trump as “woefully unprepared” and “unfit to serve as president.” “He keeps proving it,” Obama added.”This isn’t a situation where you have an episodic gaffe,” Obama said as the 70-year-old mogul was embroiled in multiple controversies over his comments about Muslims, babies, firefighters and the military. Racial war in the United States

Image
The blacks are now fighting back through protest movements such as “Black Lives matter” and have even gone the extra mile of protecting themselves against police such that they have begun killing policemen. This later move has caused uproar as State after State, Governors and even President Obama have come out to condemn blacks, who in protecting themselves, kill law enforcement officers. The action of blacks was predicated on well documented cases of police killing black people even after they had surrendered, or after being stopped for minor offences like a broken rear light or that a black man is seen at a “place” he should not be, that is, in expensive and rich neighbourhood, etc. Every black household spends time teaching their children especially teenagers how to behave when stopped or approach by the police: the blacks call it “the talk.” Be respectful, put up your hands immediately even before being asked, etc. because the chances of being shot are extremely high; and th

NBC Boss - Donald Trump Is Not Welcome Back to The Celebrity Apprentice

Image
If Donald Trump was considering a return to his old hosting gig on The Celebrity Apprentice as a potential back-up plan should his presidential campaign not work out, he might want to reconsider. NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt, speaking with reporters following his executive session at the network's TCA Summer Press Day 2016, revealed that there was no home for the Republican candidate to return to. "I have no idea if he has a future in television, but he would never be back on The Celebrity Apprentice, if that's the question," he said. "As long as I'm here." While Greenblatt did concede that Trump would be seen on the network across news programs, just as any other politician is, he wouldn't comment on whether NBC might work with the man again on anything in the entertainment space. "I couldn't answer that at this point," he said. NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke fielded the same question, thought she wasn't as

Dethroned Miss Florida USA 2017 Genesis Davila Sues Pageant Organization for $15 Million

Image
This beauty queen isn't going down without a fight. About a week after Genesis Davila won the title of Miss Florida USA 2017, she was stripped of her crown. The pageant accused the Puerto Rican model of violating one of the regulations from the organization: You cannot have your hair and makeup professionally done. "We have a zero-tolerance policy on rules," said Grant Gravitt, executive producer of the Miss Florida USA pageant, to Miami's Local 10. "Whether it's something major or minor, it's all about keeping an equal and level playing field. Unfortunately, our title holder sought an unfair competitive advantage, and that's just not acceptable in our system." Now the beauty queen is firing back in a 21-page lawsuit asking a Miami-Dade circuit judge to issue an emergency injunction restoring her title, according to the Miami Herald. Her lawyer states that one of the key photos used against his client was actually taken more than a week be

Militants flee Ogun, regroup in Ondo

Image
Some vandals allegedly responsible for attacks on communities in Lagos and Ogun states are escaping in large numbers to riverine communities in the Ilaje and Ese-Odo local government areas of Ondo State. Investigations on Monday showed that the insurgents, who escaped the intensified aerial bombardment by the Nigerian Air Force of their camps at Arepo, Ogun, and Ikorodu, Lagos, had been sighted in Ore, Okitipupa and the riverine communities of  Ondo State. A top security source told one of our correspondents that security reports showed that some of the militants had sneaked into the Ondo reverine communities. He said, ‘‘Arepo can no longer contain them. Some of them have run to Ondo to hide in the riverine areas.’’ It was further gathered that some of them were still trapped in Arepo and other communities in Lagos and were making frantic moves to flee. A source in Ese-Odo said since the military started the bombardment of the militants’ camps on Friday, many of them had
