Kylie Jenner and Tyga Are Broken Up, but 'There's Still So Much Love There

Kylie Jenner and Tyga are no longer together, but that doesn't mean they're entirely out of each other's lives.

A source tells PEOPLE of the duo, who split over a month ago, that they "may be broken up but there is still so much love there."

"He was her first true love and that is something that she just can't walk away from entirely," adds the insider of Jenner, 18, who dated the rapper for well over a year.

As for whether there's tension between the exes, the source says "there's not really much bad blood there anymore" – and indeed, Tyga, 26, and Jenner both recently attended a birthday bash at Jenner's sister Kim Kardashian West's house for daughter North, 3, over the weekend.

Of the breakup, the source says "it was just bad timing and they were fighting all the time."

"Kylie couldn't take it, and her friends couldn't either," says the source of Jenner, who has a tight-knit group of girlfriends, with whom she also lives.

"They were a big influence on her separating from him," the source adds. "They told her that their relationship was way too unhealthy at the time and that played a key part in their decision to separate."

According to the insider, the time apart has helped the former couple.

"Now that they have spent some time apart, Kylie feels like things have calmed down a bit and that they can start fresh, as friends, for now," says the source.

As for rapper PartyNextDoor, to whom Jenner has been linked in the weeks since breaking up with Tyga, the source says PartyNextDoor, 22, "has been more of a rebound" for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star.

"They are still hanging out, but don't expect Kylie to settle down with him any time soon," adds the source.

While Jenner hasn't publicly commented on her breakup, Tyga recently spoke out about the split in an interview with Big Boy TV.

"When you're in a very public relationship like that, it's hard for other people to see you differently than that," he said. "Being in that it took a lot, career wise, everything. It overshadowed a lot of my talents and a lot of things that I worked hard for."

"When something is so damaged or something is just not right, you can't fix it in a moment. The only thing is time," he continued. "Maybe later on in life, maybe we might come back. ... Right now, I want to focus on what I need to do. I just wanted to get back to just me. I think for her as well."
