We received this request on November 8 to which we responded for clarification and details about the event on November 9. We are yet to receive the requested information so, the notion that we declined his request is false and to imply we are politically motivated is false. Some of the additional information requested was pertaining to security provisions and Eko Atlantic City is not an event center and rather a city with existing residents and businesses. Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has approved N33,000 as minimum wage for all staff in his conglomerate. Mohammed El-Yakub, Managing Director of Gotel Communications, Atiku's media outfit based in Yola, confirmed on Thursday, saying “the N33,000 new salary scale, which takes effect from November 2018, includes domestic servants and all categories of workers on the former VP's payroll. El-Yakub said over 100,000 people are currently drawing salary on a monthly basis from the former Vice President. President Muhammadu Buhari has declared a state of emergency on Nigeria’s water supply, sanitation and hygiene sector. In a statement by Buhari's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the president maintained that the action became imperative as it will reduce the hig prevalence of water-borne diseases in different parts of the country, which has caused preventable deaths. Buhari described statistics on open defecation, access to piped water service and sanitation as "disturbing" while committing to implement the National Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Action Plan. The statement read: "Access to piped water services which was 32% in 1990 has declined to 7% in 2015; access to improved sanitation has also decreased from 38% in 1990 to 29% in 2015. A sacked banker, Emmanuel Emeka Onuma, has been arrested for allegedly breaking into the vault of an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and carting away N14 million, reports Dailytrust. . The suspect, according to the police, was an employee of the bank where he was sacked, in August, for fraudulent activities. The suspect told journalists that he worked with the bank for about 11 years and that he was dismissed unjustly without any benefit. . He however said there was no justification for what he did. Explaining how the suspect was arrested, ACP Olumese said, “On 1st November, police operatives attached to Garki Division arrested Onuma, 34, who broke into the ATM lobby of a bank located in Garki on 19th October, 2018 at about 12 midnight and stole the sum of N14 million.” . He said the suspect confessed that some of the money he stole from the bank was converted to foreign currency ($33,000) at Abuja and Kaduna for ease of movement. The American Heart Associating in a study carried out recently, has said that consuming just one energy drink may be detrimental to blood vessel function . The study, according to medicalnewstoday.com , tested blood vessel function in non- smoking, young, healthy adults and found that the participants had significantly diminished blood vessel function soon after consuming just the one energy drink. Consumption of these drinks has previously been associated with adverse health effects including conditions related to the nerves , heart , and stomach.
